President Donald Trump, 79, spent Christmas Day posting heavily on social media, sharing around 150 messages on his Truth Social platform. The posts largely attacked the media, Democrats, and Somali immigrants, while also repeating unproven claims promoted by allies and supporters.
The volume and tone of the posts stood out for the holiday, which is typically quieter for political messaging.
Amplifying Praise From Another Platform
Alongside his own posts on Truth Social, Trump highlighted praise from supporters on X.
Supporters on X shared screenshots of Trump’s Truth Social posts and added favorable comments. Trump then took screenshots of those responses and reposted them back on Truth Social, effectively recycling the praise across platforms.
Foreign-Based Accounts Shared by Trump
An analysis by Meidas News found that at least 17 of the X posts Trump reshared came from accounts located outside the United States.

X’s newer “about this account” feature shows where accounts are actually based, even when users claim to be located in the U.S.
According to Meidas News, Trump amplified eight pro-MAGA accounts primarily based in South Asia and Eastern Europe.
Accounts Posing as U.S.-Based MAGA Supporters
One account, called “Trump Girl,” describes itself as “#Magatrump2024” and uses images of a blond woman in a MAGA hat along with a photo of Trump. While the account claims to be based in California, its location is listed as South Asia.

Trump reshared a post from the account stating, “The election was STOLEN. President Trump was correct.”
He also boosted a fan account dedicated to Karoline Leavitt, which is based in Taiwan and claims to report White House news daily. Another promoted account themed around Charlie Kirk was found to be based in Eastern Europe.

Inflammatory Claims About Immigrants
One reshared post from the Leavitt fan account claimed, “BREAKING: Rep. Comer reveals 75% of Somalis in Minnesota are on WELFARE,” followed by the question, “Deport them all?”
The claim was shared without evidence or context.
A Pattern of Sharing Foreign Accounts
This is not the first time Trump has relied on foreign-based accounts to showcase online support for his agenda. He frequently reposts content from accounts named “Sami Nathaniel” and “Caroline,” both identified as being based in South Asia.
Earlier this month, Trump posted more than 160 times in under four hours, with many of the posts originating from those same accounts.
Christmas Day Posts Echo Earlier Behavior
Trump’s Christmas Day activity included five posts from the “Sami Nathaniel” account alone. One message read, “America is for American again.!!!” in response to a video featuring White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller criticizing Somali immigrants.
The episode highlights Trump’s continued use of social media amplification, even when the sources of support appear to come from outside the country.
