So, The Intercept has finally put a name to the face of the man who turned a Minneapolis residential street into a shooting range on Wednesday.
Meet Jonathan Ross, a 43-year-old deportation officer operating out of St. Paul.

While the Trump administration is busy gaslighting the entire country, Ross is the guy identified as the one who fatally shot 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good.
This happened right in the middle of the Central neighborhood just after 9:30 a.m., according to The Intercept.
You would think federal agents might have better things to do than start shootouts in broad daylight, but apparently not.
A Resume of Violence?

It turns out Ross isn’t exactly new to drama.
According to court documents from an unrelated case cited by the article, he has been with the agency since at least 2016.
The Minnesota Star Tribune was the first to publicly identify Ross.
Back in June, he was apparently injured while trying to apprehend an undocumented man.
A local Fox affiliate quoted a DHS spokesperson confirming this is the same guy.
Now, public records link him to a photo on his father’s Facebook page.
It shows a man captioned “Jon Ross in Iraq” holding an assault weapon.
Because of course it does.
The “Alternative Facts” Defense
Here is where the MAGA spin machine really goes off the rails.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem stood up at a press conference and actually tried to sell this as self-defense.
“This appears as an attempt to kill or to cause bodily harm to agents, an act of domestic terrorism,” said DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
She claimed the officer fired “defensive shots” because he was “fearing for his life.”
President Donald Trump, never one to let reality get in the way of a good tweet, jumped on TruthSocial to claim video showed the agent being run over.
But guess what?
The Intercept obtained footage of the shooting on Wednesday, and it tells a very different story.
It contradicts the government’s narrative entirely.
The video shows Ross telling Good “get out of the fucking car” before shooting into her car three times.
He then walks away apparently uninjured.
So much for being run over.
Blocking the Good Guys
It gets worse.
Another video shows ICE agents physically blocking a physician from helping the dying woman.
“I’m a physician,” says the doctor in the clip.
“I don’t care,” responds one of the agents.
That is the compassion of the “pro-life” party on full display, folks.
In one video from the scene, a woman can be heard saying, “They killed my wife. I don’t know what to do.”
She adds, “They shot her in the head.”
The Feds Are Hiding Something
Now that the dust is settling, the “party of state’s rights” is suddenly refusing to work with the state.
Minnesota officials told multiple outlets that the FBI is refusing to collaborate on the investigation.
Accountability is looking pretty scarce right now.
A spokesperson for the city of Minneapolis called this “deeply disappointing.”
“We are concerned that the investigation is proceeding without state partners, and we are calling for a clear and transparent process that includes state investigating agencies,” said spokesperson Jess Olmstead.
Even the locals are fed up.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey didn’t mince words during a CNN interview.
“The Trump admin will tell you ICE is here for safety,” said Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.
“That is a lie. They are creating chaos and danger while tearing families apart.”
Why Were They Even There?
Video of the Minneapolis ICE shooting completely contradicting ICE's account that the driver was trying to ram anyone. Looks like they were turning around to leave, and immediately lit up pic.twitter.com/PwUZkPkIVt

Let’s not forget why this paramilitary force was in town in the first place.
The shooting occurred after DHS surged agents to the Twin Cities.
This was in response to a misleading video from a far-right influencer targeting Somali Americans.
The GOP propaganda machine winds them up, and then they let them loose on our streets.
Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., is calling it what it is.
“This is not law enforcement. It is state violence,” Omar wrote in a statement.
She is right.
It is time to stop pretending this is normal.
