Oh, honey, buckle up. We just witnessed another episode of “The Emperor Has No Clothes,” courtesy of the Department of Homeland Security.

CNN’s Pamela Brown decided to do her job today and actually press DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin on why immigration agents are dragging U.S. citizens out of cars in Minneapolis.

The vibe was tense. The answers were… creative.

“Reasonable Suspicion” or Just Being 5’6″?

It started with viral videos showing agents demanding papers from Americans following the tragic shooting of 37-year-old Renee Good.

Brown asked a simple question regarding DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s comments: Do we all need to carry passports to the grocery store now?

McLaughlin’s response was a masterclass in bureaucratic word salad.

“I am so glad you asked this question,” she chirped, before claiming operations are “incredibly targeted.”

She then dropped the “reasonable suspicion” bomb.

Apparently, if you are simply “in the vicinity” of a target, you are fair game.

McLaughlin even cited a Supreme Court case from September 2025 to justify this, claiming DHS has been “vindicated.”

She insisted, “Racial animus is no place in DHS.” Sure, Jan.

The Mystery of the Minnesota Woman
Brown wasn’t having it.

She played a video of a U.S. citizen in Minnesota being grilled about her birthplace by border patrol.

Brown asked, “Why exactly was she stopped? Was there reasonable suspicion?”

McLaughlin, who admitted she hadn’t even seen the video, decided to play defense attorney anyway.

Her excuse? Maybe the woman matched a “descriptor.”

“She could be 5’6 and they’re looking for somebody who’s 5’6,” McLaughlin said.

Yes, you read that right. Being average height is now probable cause.

She then pivoted to the classic “maybe she deserved it” argument.

“I don’t know if she was obstructing law enforcement, if she was assaulting law enforcement prior to this,” she speculated.

Because asking why you are being stopped is definitely assault in MAGA-land.

Blame the Messenger (Again)

When Brown pointed out that people are watching these videos and worrying Minnesota is becoming a “police state,” McLaughlin went to the old reliable playbook.

“I think that there’s a lot of fearmongering going on, I think, by the media,” she whined.

Brown cut her off immediately.

“But hold on, let me just correct you right there,” the anchor said.

“Let me just, they’re watching these videos and using their independence of mind. It’s not the media.”

McLaughlin snapped back, “No, actually it is the media.”

She then ranted about “rampant violence against our law enforcement” and claimed the videos were lacking context.

According to her, we all need to ask if the person in the video was committing a federal crime before the camera started rolling.

Because clearly, the problem isn’t the agents pulling citizens out of cars.

It’s you believing your own lying eyes.
