Trump’s Attempt to Bury the Epstein Files Is Failing Worse Than Anyone Expected

You really have to hand it to the MAGA mindset.

Just when you think things can’t get any more absurd, they manage to find a new basement to crash through.

According to CNN’s Harry Enten, there is actually something Americans hate more than President Donald Trump’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

And that something is his sudden, bizarre obsession with buying Greenland.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Distraction or Delusion?

Let’s look at the facts.

The Department of Justice still hasn’t complied with the Epstein Transparency Act to release the investigative files on the late sex offender and longtime Trump friend.

But instead of answers, we are getting a reality TV pitch about buying an island.

Enten told “CNN News Central” that interest in the Epstein files has plummeted as the 79-year-old president sets his sights on a Greenland takeover.

Enten laid it out perfectly.

“So this is the whole idea – the president of United States didn’t like the focus on the Epstein files,” Enten said.

He continued, “We’re going to change the subject and we’re going to go over to Greenland, and from that perspective, it’s worked.”

The Numbers Don’t Lie (Unlike Some People)

The data is actually staggering.

Enten pointed out that Google searches for the Epstein files have dropped “down through the floor,” falling 72 percent since December.

Meanwhile, searches for Greenland are “up like a rocket,” rising almost 1,600 percent.

That is the highest on record.

“My goodness gracious,” Enten noted.

If the goal was to dangle a shiny, icy object in front of the public to make us forget about the Epstein files, Enten admits “it has been a success by that metric.”

Host John Berman did try to play the voice of reason.

He cautioned that there was no proof linking the Greenland push to the Epstein matter.

Sure, John.

We will just chalk it up to another one of those totally normal coincidences that seem to happen constantly in this administration.

Jumping Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Ice

Here is the best part.

This “distraction” is actually a political disaster.

Enten highlighted that Trump’s approval rating on the Epstein files is “just absolutely awful” at 38 points below water.

You would think it is impossible to do worse than that.

But leave it to Trump to find a way.

Any attempt to buy Greenland is somehow 40 points below water.

Enten explained, “There is barely an issue out there that’s worse for Donald Trump than the Epstein files, but any attempts to buy Greenland or use military force on Greenland, which even polls worse than this, is one of them.”

He called it “arguably the most unpopular thing that Donald Trump can try to do.”

So, congratulations are in order for the right wing.

You managed to find the one policy idea Americans detest more than a coverup involving a sex offender.

As Berman marveled, “So Greenland is polling worse than the Epstein.”

You simply cannot make this stuff up.
