When Trump Spins, MAGA Gets Motion Sickness
Let me get this straight.
One day, Donald Trump is practically cosplaying as the patron saint of Iranian protesters.
The next day, he is suddenly the White House spokesperson for the Iranian regime.
Cool. Very cool.
The Promise Phase
Trump as Revolutionary Influencer
Earlier this month, Trump promised to have protesters’ backs if Iran turned violent.
A bold claim. A dramatic one.
On Tuesday, he doubled down on Truth Social, writing:
“Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING – TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!! Save the names of the killers and abusers. They will pay a big price,”
Then came the sequel line:
“HELP IS ON ITS WAY. MIGA!!!”
CBS News reported later that same day that the regime had already murdered between 12,000 and 20,000 protesters.

The Whiplash
From ‘HELP IS ON ITS WAY’ to ‘Nothing to See Here’
Fast forward about five minutes in political time.
During a Wednesday afternoon Q&A, Trump declared that “the killing in Iran is stopping.”
He even repeated the regime’s excuse that “people were shooting” at security forces.
Yes. That talking point. That one.
Apparently, the bodies just… stopped falling.
Because Trump said so.
MAGA Meltdown
Conservatives Discover Betrayal Is Bad Actually
The right was not amused.
Not even a little.
Fox News’ Mark Levin went nuclear before Trump even finished talking.
He asked:
“If the Iranian regime is not slaughtering citizens now then can we assume they’ll turn on all the communications platforms so the world can see?”
Then he followed up with:
“What authority has informed our government the killing has stopped? I’ve many more questions.”

On Thursday, Levin escalated further, saying:
“There’s overwhelming evidence the Iranian regime’s slaughter has not ended. The tactics have changed. And we all know it. And when the world’s attention turns elsewhere, thousands in prisons will be executed after they’re tortured, and the others will be hunted down like wild animals. The door is closing on these courageous and beautiful people. So many of them young like our own children and grandchildren.”
That sound you hear is conservative heads exploding.
Lindsey Graham Tries Concern
Thoughts, Prayers, and a Keyboard
Senator Lindsey Graham joined the outrage parade.
He wrote:
“Every indication that I’ve seen says that the Iranian regime’s killing of protestors is still very much in full swing. The death toll is mounting by the hour. Hoping that help is on the way.”
He also pushed back on reports that Trump ruled out military action.
Hope springs eternal, I guess.
The Right Eats Its Own
National Review Notices the Obvious
Even National Review could not spin this one.
Noah Rothman openly marveled at:
“What a betrayal this would be. What a historic missed opportunity this would be…”

When National Review sounds like a resistance blog, you know things are bad.
Trump’s Only Consistent Policy Is Chaos
Trump promised help.
Then praised the excuse-making of an authoritarian regime.
His base noticed.
They are furious.
And once again, MAGA learned the hardest lesson of all.
Loyalty only flows one way.
