If there is one thing we know about the modern conservative movement, it is that they are deeply serious people with serious concerns.
Just kidding.
Lara Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law and the wife of the president’s son Eric, took to the airwaves recently to expose the true face of tyranny in New York City.
Her complaint?
The new mayor, Zohran Mamdani, didn’t provide enough snacks at his inauguration.
Speaking as a host on Fox News, Lara unleashed a scathing review of the event that saw Mamdani formally take office.
She told viewers, “There were 4,000 people that came to this inauguration yesterday; there was no food, no music, no access to bathrooms, so welcome to communism everybody!”
Yes, you read that correctly.
Apparently, in the MAGA playbook, the absence of a shrimp cocktail and a DJ booth is the definitive slippery slope to a proletariat revolution.
Holding It In for Freedom
Lara didn’t stop at the lack of catering.
She painted a grim picture of attendees suffering in the cold, presumably yearning for the warm embrace of capitalism and a portable toilet.
“You get what you get, you just shut up about it, and you sit there and you freeze and you don’t go to the bathroom,” she added.
Her fellow host, Brian Kilmeade, offered his deep intellectual analysis of her rant.
“It’s a great point,” he chipped in swiftly.
It is truly inspiring to watch the minds at Fox News work so hard to connect a lack of public restrooms to seized means of production.

The Obsession with “Comrade” Mamdani
This obsession with painting Mamdani as a villain is nothing new for the right.
Mamdani secured a “stonking victory” at the polls in November, grabbing more than 50 percent of the vote.
This win in a bitterly contested race remains a massive sore spot for MAGA supporters.
They have consistently tried to label the progressive leftist Democrat as a dangerous communist.
Some Republican lawmakers have taken the hysteria even further.
Tennessee Representative Andy Ogles and Florida Congressman Randy Fine have actually called for Mamdani to be deported to Uganda, his birth country.
Never mind the fact that he became a U.S. citizen in 2018.
Facts rarely get in the way of a good right-wing fever dream.
Daddy Doesn’t Agree
The funniest part of Lara’s tirade is that she seems to have missed the memo from the top.
The “High Lord of MAGA” himself does not seem to share her disdain.
While Donald Trump and Mamdani traded fierce insults before the election, the president stunned everyone with a “fawning” White House meeting just weeks later.
It was supposed to be a closed-door meeting.
However, it went so well that Trump invited journalists in to watch him beam beside the man who has been one of his staunchest critics.
Trump was reportedly so charmed by Mamdani that he defended the mayor-elect against his own MAGA-friendly journalists.
When asked if Mamdani stood by his previous description of Trump as a “fascist,” the president waved it off.
“That’s ok, you can just say it,” Trump said.
“It’s easier, it’s easier than explaining it,” he added.
So while Lara Trump is busy crying “communism” because she couldn’t find the buffet, her father-in-law is busy being best friends with the new mayor.
It must be exhausting to be that out of the loop.
